Who’s happiest at work—and home?

Table of Contents

The specialty you’ve chosen can have an effect on how happy you are both at home and at work.

Dermatologists have the highest happiness factor at work, as determined by those who answered “very” or “extremely” happy. It’s the only specialty whose happy quotient surpassed the 50 percent mark at the office.

Family medicine and emergency medicine physicians, radiologists and internists are the least happy at work, hovering around just above 35 percent. Least happy at home? Physicians practicing HIV/Infectious Disease and Critical Care.

The specialty you choose can affect your happiness both at work and at home.
