What was the most important factor in your search for a new job?

I had some very specific career goals in mind. Although my visa restricted me to certain geographic areas, I still wanted to find the kind of job I wanted to do.

How did PracticeLink help you in your job search?

PracticeLink offers a great filtering system that includes geographical location, subspecialty (including neurohospitalist), and importantly to me, whether or not the position will consider J-1 waiver candidates. PracticeLink also really streamlines the process so that in most cases, you can send your CV and a pre-made application straight to the recruiter. It was easy to send my application and arrange an interview.

Any other advice?

Start looking early. For J-1 folks specifically, know your options, don’t be afraid to look at big cities, and keep your DS-2019 and USMLE transcripts!
