• What services are provided by the practice?
• How big is the staff, and how many locations are there?
• How many patients will I see daily?
• How easy is it to refer patients to specialists?
• How much time is allotted for each patient?
• What is the living situation for local doctors?
• How are the benefits packages and vacation offerings?
• Are there loan repayment or relocation assistance offerings?
• Are there research opportunities?
• What is the rate of turnover for physicians?
• What are the leisure-time opportunities?

Additional considerations include competition in your specialty, work availability (particularly if you are a specialist), cost of living, partner’s preferences, proximity to family and friends, climate and local schools.
